We spoke to the wonderfully stylish Clare Thompson, owner of The Wedding Club Bridal Boutique in London who stock luxury designer bridal gowns such as Zuhair Murad, Berta, Naeem Khan and Carolina Herrera to find out where trends for 2016.
This summer sees our brides fully embracing the very daring low cut sensual silhouettes with sheer illusion necklines and low backs. Designers like Zuhiar Murad and Berta are softening the red carpet look with the use of delicate laces, textured fabrics and long sleeves, creating a very elegant and streamlined look. Perfect for the confident glamorous fashion-forward bride.
Separates are also very popular this season, with brides wanting 2 looks for their wedding day. The statement dress for the day, which can then change into something a little more practical for the evening party. Overskirts, detachable trains and capes are a very clever way of achieving this, and there are also options for those girls who would like a short party number, so that they can really let their hair down and have a good time!
Colour has also made a strong appearance on the bridal catwalks for this season, with blush, lilac and ombre dresses taking centre stage. Great for brides who want to move away from the traditional white and ivory look.
